On the east side of Castle Pines, Canyonside has been under construction for a long time. Life Time Castle Pines is the first project there with an opening month attached. Its listing at 7373 Canyon Forge Drive says "Arriving November 2026." The other buildings rising around it are either still under construction or still under review. For about the next year, then, one large club becomes the east side's main new indoor destination. Up to now, that kind of space in The Canyons has come in neighborhood-sized pieces.
The Canyon House opened as a resident-only clubhouse. It has a fitness area with cardio machines, free weights and space for group classes, plus a movement studio and a kids' room with foosball and ping pong tables. When it opened, Joey Sanders, general manager of BlueStar Resort & Golf, told the Castle Pines Connection that residents "now have everything they need without getting back out on to Hess Road." Life Time adds a second, much larger option close to home, built for a regional membership.
The one Canyonside building with a month on it
Hager put the scale bluntly when presenting the August update covered by the Castle Pines Connection. Hager called the club the "crown jewel" of Castle Pines and said it is Life Time's "single highest-end club." That same update shows how early the rest of Canyonside still is. Canyonside covers 211 of the 3,322 acres in The Canyons. As of late August, here is where the rest of it stood:
- Album by Greystar, a four-story, 164-unit active adult 55+ apartment community, is under construction.
- The Peaks at Canyons, rental townhomes with garages, is under construction, and leasing could begin by the end of 2027.
- Richmond Homes Cityscapes has approval for 183 lots south of Pronghorn Park, with home sales expected to start by the end of next year.
- S. Havana Street has been moved to a new alignment, and plans for a QuikTrip gas station and convenience store are under review.
- An AdventHealth medical office of 24,500 square feet, with a proposed emergency department, is under review.
- A 2.1 million-square-foot mixed-use area on 100 acres south of Castle Pines Parkway is still in planning, and no tenants have been named.
Every item on that list is a building, an approval or an application. Life Time is the only one with a public month on it. Through this winter and into next year, it will probably be the only large new indoor space operating in Canyonside.
What moves indoors, and what stays at Canyon House
Life Time doesn't take the place of what's already on Westbridge Drive. It works at a different scale, and the two side by side show how much the indoor options are about to grow.
| The Canyon House | Life Time Castle Pines (planned) | |
|---|---|---|
| Access | Resident-only clubhouse; Canyon House Kitchen + Cocktails is open to the public | Membership; also grants access to Life Time Centennial and Parker-Aurora |
| Fitness | Cardio, free weights, group fitness space, movement studio | Two-floor club with a workout floor, six studios, 100+ classes a week from opening |
| Water | Next to the community swimming pool | Two six-lane indoor pools, plus an outdoor Beach Club with a leisure pool, five-lane lap pool and waterslides |
| Courts | None listed | Four indoor and five outdoor pickleball courts |
| Kids | Kids' space with foosball and ping pong | Kids Academy for ages 3 months to 11 years |
| Food and drink | Restaurant seating 80 indoors, covered patio facing Rueter-Hess Reservoir | LifeCafe, bar and lounge, poolside bistro |
Several of these amenities don't depend on the weather, which matters for a club opening in November. In Life Time's own preview of the club, one of the two indoor pools is set aside for swim teams and lessons, and the other keeps lanes open for lap swimming. The four indoor pickleball courts will host tournaments, leagues and clinics. Jeff May, who leads the Castle Pines club, said it will have "one of the best pickleball facilities and offerings in the area." The men's and women's locker rooms each have a hydrotherapy suite with a sauna, steam room, whirlpool and cold plunge.
Some of the planned features have little to do with exercise. The Work Club Lounge is an open-plan coworking area included with membership. The Kids Academy has two kids' gyms, activity, language arts and movement studios, an infant area and a toddler room. A Junior membership includes up to 2.5 hours of child care a day. May says there will be full liquor service across the whole first floor, with the LifeCafe, bar and lounge, and Beach Club bistro run as one service. Taken together, that's a workspace, child care and a bar under one roof inside The Canyons. That kind of all-day use is new for the east side.
What is still a forecast
The opening month has already moved. In October 2025, the Castle Pines Connection captioned the club as "expected to open in early 2027." By May 28, 2026, the paper reported construction "ahead of schedule," with an opening "later this year" and more than 300 workers to be hired. The current listing says November 2026. Each update has moved the date earlier, but all of them are targets. No source names a specific opening day or grand-opening event.
Other basics haven't been published yet either:
- Pricing. Life Time's July 13, 2026 article said "Membership pricing is not yet available." The company said waitlist members would get pricing from the Castle Pines concierge team and mentioned preferred pre-opening rates without giving amounts. The membership page still shows only a waitlist.
- Hours. The club listing shows an address and phone number, 866-770-1546, but no hours.
- Class schedule. The posted schedule is labeled a sample that may change at grand opening.
- Add-ons. Life Time's floor-plan page lists Pilates, kids' swim team, LifeCafe, chiropractic and spa services as extra charges on top of a Signature membership.
Membership also covers Life Time Centennial and Life Time Parker-Aurora, which the company puts at about a 15-minute drive each. For anyone already using one of those clubs, the change may mostly come down to which address they drive to.
The October before the doors open
Until the club opens, the east side's calendar still runs out of The Exchange Coffee House at 1415 Westbridge Drive, the Canyon House and The Green. Village Square on the other side of the city has its own lineup, and one Saturday has events in both places at overlapping times.
| Date | Event | Time | Where |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mon, Oct 5 | The Chocolate Therapist, chocolate and wine tasting, ticketed | 6 to 7:30 p.m. | The Exchange Coffee House |
| Thu, Oct 8 | Coffee Klatch with Mayor Tracy | 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. | The Exchange Coffee House |
| Thu, Oct 8 | Plant Bingo | 6 to 8 p.m. | The Exchange Coffee House |
| Mon, Oct 12 | Spooky Cookie Decorating with The Classy Cookie | 4:30 p.m. | The Exchange Coffee House |
| Sat, Oct 17 | The Canyons Fall Festival | 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. | The Green |
| Thu, Oct 22 | Bunco Night | 6 to 8 p.m. | The Exchange Coffee House |
| Fri, Oct 23 | Bonfire, BBQ, and Brews | 6 to 9 p.m. | Village Square, 7437 Village Square Drive |
| Sat, Oct 24 | Antique Road Show, complimentary appraisals | 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. | Canyon House Community Room |
| Sat, Oct 24 | Fall Festival, Trick-or-Treat Street and Pumpkin Race | 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. | Village Square |
| Wed, Oct 28 | New Resident Welcome Reception | 5 to 7 p.m. | The Ridge Golf Course, 1414 Castle Pines Parkway |
The October 17 festival on The Green is the biggest outdoor event of the month. The Canyons lists a pumpkin patch, face painters, character artists, a balloon twister, bounce houses, a petting zoo, performing pigs and axe throwing for ages 18 and up. Chain Saw Mama will carve on site and raffle the pieces to three winners. The overlap comes a week later, on October 24. The Antique Road Show at Canyon House runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the city festival at Village Square runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The pumpkin race at Village Square starts at 1 p.m., and this year's festival adds a chili cook-off for the first time. If you want an appraisal and the pumpkin race, there's just enough time to do the appraisal first and then drive across town.
What comes after Life Time
The next openings on the east side are less certain. The AdventHealth medical office and its proposed emergency department are under review, not approved. The Castle Pines Connection's August report places it at Hess Road and Canyon Forge Drive, while an earlier city-provided update placed it at Castle Pines Parkway and Canyon Forge Drive. The QuikTrip is also still under review. The 12-acre pad north of Castle Pines Parkway is zoned mixed use and has no named businesses. Hager described the 100 acres south of the Parkway as "truly going to be mixed use and a very walkable neighborhood," with "more plans to come." Until those plans have dates, Life Time is the only part of Canyonside with a month attached, and that month is November.
As Canyonside fills in, it shapes how a home in The Canyons lives day to day and how it will be described when it's time to sell.
