Ask a longtime Castle Pines resident how to spend a summer weekend and the answer used to be simple: pack a chair, drive to Elk Ridge Park, and settle in for a Sunday concert. That answer is still right. It is also no longer complete. In 2026, the neighborhood has a second calendar running east of I-25, anchored by The Green, Canyon House, and The Exchange, and the way you stitch a Friday-through-Sunday together here has quietly changed shape.
This is a working map of the back half of the season for people already living in The Canyons. Where to go, which nights punch above their weight, and one scheduling quirk that will cost you the first act of a concert if you show up on autopilot.
Two Calendars, One Small City
Castle Pines is a small place. Incorporated in 2008, the City is home to approximately 16,000 residents. A community that size running two overlapping summer series at the same time is unusual, and it is why August feels busier this year than most residents remember.
The Elk Ridge track is the older institution, presented with Sky Ridge (HCA HealthONE) as the anchor sponsor. The Green, the community lawn just west of Canyon House, is newer. It came online with the clubhouse buildout and is pulling in crowds from beyond The Canyons boundary in a way that most residents west of Monarch have not fully caught up with yet.
If you are trying to decide which track becomes your default, the honest answer is that the two are built for different weekend jobs. Sundays at Elk Ridge are the family blanket-and-chair evening. Saturdays on The Green are shorter, closer to home if you live in the neighborhood, and set up for walk-in-walk-out. You do not have to pick.
The One Concert Detail That Trips People Up
The Chamber Summer Concert Series closes on Sunday, August 16 at Elk Ridge Park with The Long Run, a Colorado tribute to The Eagles. Founded 2009 in Northern Colorado. Played the Paramount Theatre in downtown Denver and Red Rocks Amphitheater for their 10-year anniversary.

The Long Run starts at 5 p.m., not 6. Show up at the usual hour and you will find the crowd already settled and half the setlist behind you.
The earlier start is the show's alone. The other two dates on this year's series, That Eighties Band on June 28 and Narrow Gauge on July 26, both ran on the traditional 6 to 8:30 p.m. window. Bring the chair earlier for Aug 16. Elk Ridge sits at 7005 Mira Vista Ln and has a splash pad and playground for kids who tap out mid-set, which makes an early arrival easier to sell to the household.
The Green: Anchor Saturdays, Not A Concert Series
The programming on The Green is not a weekly rhythm. It is a handful of anchor Saturdays tied to the clubhouse buildout, and the lineup for the back half of the season is short and specific.
- Saturday, Aug 1, 5 to 9 p.m. Dueling Pianos at The Green. Live music, family-friendly, additional programming folded in around the main set.
- Saturday, Oct 17, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The next community anchor on the schedule after the summer wind-down.
The inaugural Canyons Maker's Market ran on June 13 with roughly forty local artists, bakers, and small businesses, plus food trucks and live music. If you missed the first one, the pattern is worth flagging for next year: mid-June, midday, walkable if you live in the neighborhood, and easier on a stroller than the Elk Ridge concerts.
The reason The Green works for existing residents is proximity. You do not need a plan, a cooler, or a designated driver. You walk over from your street, stay an hour, and go home to put the kids to bed. That is a specific job the Elk Ridge concerts do not do as well.
Why Canyon House Changed Weeknights
The bigger structural shift in The Canyons this year is not on any concert flyer. It is a restaurant.
Canyon House Kitchen + Cocktails is a new bar and restaurant that is opening to the general public as part of a new private clubhouse in The Canyons development. The clubhouse itself is resident-only. The restaurant is not. Anyone can book a table, and the address is 1419 Westbridge Dr, off Castle Pines Parkway just east of I-25.
Two things about the restaurant matter for a resident's weekly rhythm. First, the space. Canyon House Kitchen + Cocktails features an indoor space to accommodate 80 people. Additional seating is available on the covered patio, where guests can enjoy a view of Rueter-Hess Reservoir. The menu offers American fare, burgers, pizza, steak and fish entrees. Second, the hours. Wednesday through Saturday runs 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Sunday closes at 8, and it is closed Monday and Tuesday.
Practical hours matter more than awards on a Wednesday, but the awards are worth reading anyway because they explain why the reservation book fills up:

Those are the OpenTable 2025 Diners' Choice categories the restaurant landed for the Denver area, all six in one year. The clubhouse itself picked up Best Community Amenity Feature at Denver's 2025 MAME awards.
The chef line is not the usual new-development story either. The executive chef, Greg Kunter, has been the chef at The Exchange Coffee House (also a property of BlueStar) and has extensive culinary experience. Chef de Cuisine Kayla trained at the Art Institute of Colorado in culinary arts and pastry after a run in accounting, and both kitchens are managed by BlueStar Resort & Golf under general manager Joey Sanders.
The practical effect for a resident: if your default Wednesday or Thursday evening has been driving to Lone Tree or Castle Rock for anything above fast-casual, the math has shifted. On the days the restaurant is open, Sanders' stated goal of residents "never having to leave the neighborhood" reads as accurate. The one caveat is the closure pattern. Canyon House is dark Monday and Tuesday, which means a Monday-holiday move does not work here. Plan around Wednesday through Sunday.
The Exchange Coffee House stays the morning half of that same map. Saturday coffee and pastry, a stretch on the trails afterward, and Music & Mimosas when the calendar lands. It is the front end of a day that used to require leaving the neighborhood to complete.
The August 21 to 22 Finale Weekend
The peak of the Castle Pines summer is a two-day weekend at the end of August. It is not being marketed that way, but for a resident planning where to be and where to bring out-of-town guests, this is the weekend to hold on the calendar.

Vino in the Village is the Castle Pines Chamber's ticketed signature event, presented in partnership with Dodd's Wine Vault. It has sold out the last four years and covers 70-plus wines and spirits, whiskey tastings, food pairings from local restaurants, live music, and a wine pull. It is 21+ with photo ID required and runs rain or shine with no refunds. Early-bird tickets went on sale June 1.
Party in the Park is the family counterpart the next evening, and this year it adds a drone show for Colorado's 150th and America's 250th. That is the piece to watch. Sesquicentennial and semiquincentennial programming will crowd the fall calendar across the state, and Castle Pines is putting its version out in August at a park most residents already know how to park at.
The scheduling insight is simple. Buy the Vino ticket ahead of the early-bird cutoff, plan Saturday around the drone show, and do not try to squeeze anything else in between. It reads as two separate events on paper. In practice it is one weekend.
Three weeks later, on Saturday, Sep 19, the free family Drive-In Movie at Future Soaring Hawk Park closes the season. Parking opens at 5:30 p.m., the movie starts at 7 p.m., and the title is to be announced.
What Is About To Change Again
If you are building a summer routine in The Canyons this year, know that it will not be the same routine next year. The east side of the city keeps compounding.
Life Time is under construction at 7373 Canyon Forge Drive. Members of the Castle Pines City Council and Planning Commission, along with representatives from Life Time and Swinerton Construction, gathered this morning to break ground on a new Life Time athletic country club coming to The Canyons neighborhood with a planned opening in late 2026. The two-story, more than 102,000-square-foot Life Time club will be located east of I-25 near Castle Pines Parkway and Canyonside Boulevard. This marks the largest commercial development within the 2.1 million square feet commercial area zoned for future business use in The Canyons. The club is planned to include indoor and outdoor pickleball courts, a full-service spa, a hydrotherapy suite, a LifeCafe grab-and-go, and an outdoor poolside bistro.
A second project is in the ground nearby. The Peaks at Canyons, a 70-unit rental townhome community at Canyonside Boulevard and Canyon Forge Drive, is under construction with completion set for late 2027.
Read together, Canyon House and Life Time follow the same template. Both sit east of I-25. Both pair food, fitness, and social space under one roof. Both are private-membership at the core with public-facing edges. If you live west of Monarch Boulevard and have not had a standing reason to cross the interstate on a weeknight, that will change once Life Time opens.
None of that changes this Sunday's blanket-and-chair calculus. It does mean the routine you build in August 2026 is a first draft, not a final one.
